The 2024 Volvo S90 Recharge cabin is identical to the regular S90, with 102 cubic feet of space. It comes with a blond headliner and Gray Ash interior trim. The seats are upholstered in leather for the Plus trim, while the Ultimate trim gets ventilated Nappa leather.
Special illuminated Recharge front tread plates are standard, as is a leather-wrapped steering wheel for both trims. The Plus trim also gets a leather-wrapped gear selector. On the other hand, the Ultimate trim adds heating for the steering wheel and a carefully crafted Orrefors® crystal gear selector.
Every 2024 S90 Recharge includes Volvo’s Comfort Front Seats to minimize fatigue during long journeys. The seats are heated and power-adjustable. Selecting Ultimate also gains ventilation and driver-side memory functions.
The rear seats come with a center armrest and power-folding rear headrests. They gain heating for the Ultimate trim. Furthermore, rear-seat passengers receive power-operated rear door sun curtains and a rear windshield sun curtain.
All trims come with high-level interior ambient lighting and LED map lights. Buyers also get a panoramic glass roof as a standard feature.
The Volvo S90 Recharge has 13.5 cubic feet of cargo space, slightly less than the regular S90. This is to accommodate the hybrid system’s battery. The rear seat backs can be power-folded to allow carrying long objects.
Like the regular S90, the 2024 S90 Recharge’s infotainment system is Android-based and supports seamless over-the-air updating. Hence, Volvo can upgrade its features at a later date.
The 2024 Volvo S90 Recharge is externally unchanged from the 2023 model. Visually, it is similar to the 2024 Volvo S90, save for discrete badging. All trims have Volvo’s iconic Thor’s Hammer LED daytime running lamps within the headlamp clusters. The sides also feature bright aluminum surrounds for the windows.
The Plus trim has 19-inch 10-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels with a black finish. On the other hand, the Ultimate gets 20-inch units with an eight-double-spoke design and black, diamond-cut finish.
Both trims get a power tailgate as standard. This includes a hands-free trunk opening feature that detects the presence of the key fob and automatically opens.
The 2024 S90 Recharge is available in seven colors:
The 2024 Volvo S90 Recharge features a powerful and efficient hybrid powertrain. It has a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The system puts out 455 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque.
The 2024 S90 Recharge range also comes with all-wheel drive as standard. Independent testing has revealed a 0-60 time of less than five seconds. The car can also travel up to 38 miles on electric power, using an 18.8-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery.
Volvo provides a 22-foot charging cable called the TurboCord that can accept 120-volt and 240-volt power supplies. The battery can be charged in just five hours using a 240-volt supply. The battery also charges via regenerative braking and coasting.
